When it comes to happiness, where you live can make a significant difference. WalletHub’s “Happiest States in America” report aimed to find out which states hold the title for the “highest satisfaction with life.” To gauge the happiness level of each state, WalletHub analyzed data across 30 different metrics. These metrics included depression rates, income growth, unemployment rates, sports participation, work environments, and even sleep patterns. After running the numbers, Utah emerged as the undisputed champion of happiness.

Following closely behind Utah is Hawaii, securing the second spot, with Maryland, Minnesota, and New Jersey rounding out the top five. These states scored high in the categories of “emotional well-being” and “community and environment.”
