Most of us can’t wait for the day that we get to hug our loved ones, head to the movies to watch the latest blockbuster, and eat at our favorite restaurant. However, it seems as though the human race is going to need to make some serious changes to make that happen. Restaurants across the globe are already starting to implement these changes, and this German cafe’s decision has left us all laughing our socks off. We guess a pool noodle isn't just for pools.

Maintaining A Distance

In light of everything going on in the world at the moment, it seems as though we’re going to be maintaining the social distancing rules for many months to come. This causes a few issues for businesses that rely on customers sitting in their restaurants, cafes, hair salons, movie theaters, and so much more. Yet, many of these business owners are coming up with genius solutions that allow them to open back up again.

A New Idea

Cafe Rothe is located in Schwerin, Germany, and is just one of the main eateries across Germany that had to close in light of the coronavirus pandemic. When restrictions began to lift, cafe owner Jaqueline Rothe knew that she wanted her customers as safe as possible - but she just didn’t know how to enforce the social distancing rules. After much thought, she came up with a great idea.

What A Noodle

Rothe realized that pool noodles acted as the perfect barrier between people, and their 1.5-meter length meant that they could showcase just how far away customers needed to be away from each other. So, she stuck three of them together to create a helicopter-type-hat structure, and then attached them to hats for her customers to wear. This way, they can keep the appropriate distance away from each other at all times.

Well, this is a pretty genius idea. Would you wear a pool noodle hat, though?
