It does not matter if you are a fan of flying or not – when you have a long haul flight, things can feel pretty straining rather quickly. We have all been there, stranded on a plane midair thinking, “if only I would have thought of bringing this item beforehand.”
Since we too are fed up with this seemingly regretfully repetitive anxiety, we gathered a list that is absolutely essential. Before your next flight read through this list and make you ticked everything on it to turn your long-haul from bearable to brilliant.
Sleep Kit
Inflatable travel pillows, ear plugs, an eye mask – all of the above will not only assist in getting jumping over the horrible hurdle that is jet lag, but it will also calm your senses. That way, if there is a crying baby is on board or the passenger sitting right next to you insists on reading the safety manual with the light on at 4 am, you can do more than sigh heavily and pray for the flight to end.
Lip Balm
If you still do not carry lip balm with you wherever you go, we honestly cannot stress out enough how vital it is that you pick up on this habit, and fast. The gender-free essential is cheap, small, and can improve the dehydrated state of your lips tremendously in a matter of seconds. Sipping coffee or yawning with chapped lips is more than uncomfortable – it’s painful.
Travel Organizer
Passport covers can be a bit tricky, as check in and out stands require all alterations be removed when handing your official international ID over the counter. However, an organizer filled with slots for your plane ticket, insurance information, and any other travel document can go a long way in saving you time, energy and effort while traveling.
Hand Sanitiser
According to the New York Post, an airplane is a hot dish for germs. Not only are you likely to catch a cold, flu, norovirus or staph infection just by sitting in your plane seat, but in the bathroom, a bacteria by the name of E. coli is often found in alarming quantities. While we do not expect you go on board with bleach and rubber gloves, you can keep the infected area to a minimum by squeezing a bit of hand sanitizer on your hands before touching anything.
